my 2 experiences into espirito santo van

On Dec 3/12/2010 wa my second trip into Espirito santo to enroll an orphan ito school. On my first tip I stayed at beach front hotel on santo and the place is ok but there is no sandy beach like ausrtalia. I suggest that you take a pair of bathers that you can discard. I was there the first time for a holiday and met a girl from mango village and decided to give her the opportunity to go o high school. My advice is to not send money through the banks . If you take australian dollars the exchange rate is far better at Bread Bank than if you changed money in australia. the exchange rate hovers between 8 - 91 Vt to the australian dollar.
My second warning is not to bring the crown jewels to the country as you are inviting trouble.
don't eat the fish as I have now conracted ciguatera ( fish poisioning and it makes you very unwell ) google for help is you get it

I ate at Lope lope - this place is the most beautifull setting that you could imgine but I was ill 30 mins after eating fish meal at the resteraunt and could not get off the toilet for the next three weeks. this is not a critism of the place - just pick another meal

much cheaper that the taxis and if you are on the outter islands I suggest that you find a local with transport. I would find out what the local pay and stick to your guns
if you are travelling to santo, champagne beach is worth it
Dont expect the same of the coral . there is an infestation of crown of thorn star fish that as decimated most of the coral.
I was supprised that one of the divers thought that if you harpooned the star fish and left it onthe bottom , that you have solved the problem.
the place revoles around aid. and dont be taken in by the locals . be determined to have your holiday
I have visited there twice and I would say that this is not paradice but worth a vist
